Often times we tend to call out our flaws and mistakes that we have made and not only our own but others’ as well. And because of this, doubt may come and make us wonder about our future whether we will turn out okay. It may cause to lose hope in who you are and the love and respect you have for yourself. Doubt and shame can drag us down and that is definitely not the mindset God wants us to have. He wants us to trust and have faith in Him, in His plans, and in His timing.
When Jesus called Peter out on to the water, it took faith for Peter to walk on water. But then doubt came and he began to sink (Matthew 14). You don’t want to sink into the enemy’s lies saying that you are not good enough or you won’t make it. You don’t want to sink in doubt and shame.
I may have made mistakes, I am not a perfect person, and I may not feel like other people, in their 20’s, that are starting to get their lives figured out, but I have learned to realize that God has a plan for me. He has called me beautiful and loved. Despite of the doubts, God has given me and continues to give me peace. Peace from being ashamed of myself because of what I cannot do and what I have done. He has taught me to appreciate the way He created me for we were created in His image.
Song of Solomon 4:7
“You are altogether beautiful, my darling. There is no flaw in you.”
Whether you doubt, are ashamed, or haven’t experienced God’s love lately, know that God is not done with you yet! Come to Jesus because He knows your heart the most. Continue to grow in Him and He will bless you.
Jeremiah 29:11
“‘For I know the plans I have for you.’ declares the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'”
Thank you for reading! I pray that this may touch your heart in some way or another. I hope it encourages you to come to God and to continue to believe that he has forgiven you, He loves you and that He has a great and beautiful plan for you!! May God bless you.
