Defeat the enemy

I was in church on Sunday and there was a guest pastor from India. He was talking about life as a Christian. There is a difference between being a full time Christian and a lukewarm Christian. The enemy has a way of coming into our lives and destroying us. Unless you are a full time Christian, you can defeat the enemy. So what makes you a full time Christian and a part time Christian? It is all based on how much time you put in spending time with the Lord.

\\”Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5//

God should be the only god you serve. Love Him with everything you are. People say they are good Christians, but don’t spend enough personal time with God.

\\”Little children, keep yourselves from idols.” 1 John 5:21//

The devil has constrained our minds toward the television or the internet (etc.). Whatever it is that you seek more than the Word, becomes your idol or god. Stay in touch with the Word and stay in touch with God.

\\” This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8//

Read the word everyday. Not just books that are written by Christian authors, but the actual Word of God. It is important because that is one of the ways God speaks to us. Not only does He speak to us through the Word, but it is also a way to get to know Him better. It is the structure that holds our faith and gives living advice.

\\”And they were to stand every morning, thanking and praising the LORD, and likewise at evening..” 1 Chronicles 23:30//

Give thanks to the Lord every morning because He has done so much for us! Be grateful for everything God has provided for you. Not everybody has what you have. In fact, most people around the world don’t. It pleases God to know that you are thankful.

\\”I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1//

God is always there for us even if we may not realize it. Give praise to what He has done! Living with Him and Him in you is having a true relationship with the Lord. Every minute of all your days, and not just once in a while. He doesn’t bless you “once in while”, so don’t thank Him “once in a while.” He blesses and helps you every single moment of your life. Honor Him and He will do awesome things for you! Have faith and trust in Him.

There are many other things that make people full time Christians. But these are also very important to think about. The enemy does not sleep, but neither does God. Do not be led into the devil’s temptations. Keep in touch with the Lord so the enemy won’t be able to reach you. God is our Protector and defender. He will keep us all safe!

\\”Whoever goes to the Lord for safety,
whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, can say to him,
“You are my defender and protector.
You are my God; in you I trust.”
He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers and from all deadly diseases. He will cover you with his wings;
you will be safe in his care; his faithfulness will protect and defend you.
You need not fear any dangers at night or sudden attacks during the day or the plagues that strike in the dark or the evils that kill in daylight..” Psalm 91: 1-6//
